The capital of France, Paris
A place where there are tourists from all over the world every day. So when I first got there, I expected a lot of traffic like Seoul. However, the Paris I saw was quite shocking. A lot of the citizens were on bicycles. These bicycles are called Velibs and are for public rental. From chic men in suits to young women in miniskirts were on velibs. There were a lot of bicycle stations here and there in the city. A bicycle would be lent at one of the stations and turned in at another when they had reached their destination. Also, the bicycle-only roads were well-maintained that it seemed much more comfortable to be on a bike than on a car. Since many of the Parisians went around on bicycles the traffic was, naturally, not bad at all. Even one traffic jam was not to be found. This bicycle policy of Paris, France is definitely helping both the people’s health and their traffic situation.
