Just like its shape, the island is named “Crescent Island”. The island isn’t big, but is surely entitled to be called the most peaceful place on Earth.

To enter the island, you need to take a boat. Because water has dried in the Lake Naivasha, you can also get to the island by road, but then, what’s the fun? Approaching the island on boat is much more exciting.

You are greeted by a small sign that reads Crescent Island.

This island gained popularity with the movie “Out of Africa”. It is also well known as the scene for the Tomb Raider that starred Angelina Jolie. The ancestors of the animals living here now were the ones relocated for the movie shooting. Then, the lake was deep that the animals were trapped on the island. But now, many animals escape the island by crossing the land.

This place is practically the one and only walking safari in Kenya. There are no carnivores that can harm humans. You may want to watch out for hippos, 3~4 meter long snakes and hyena that appear occasionally at night.

However, this island breathes of wild life just like all the other national parks in Africa. This is the rough thorn of acacia tree that giraffes eat.

The Amboseli National Park cannot be expressed in one sentence. It is where Hemingway wrote ‘The Snow of Kilimanjaro”. It is the biggest habitat for elephants among Kenyan national parks. It offers a spectacular view of the 5895m Kilimanjaro. Kenya is one of the favorites for nature documentary programs such as the National Geography. This trip was also to look around the place as a potential site for nature documentary program.

The Amboseli National Park finds itself at 4 hour distance from Nairobi. Currently, there are four gates that lead into the park. Admission fee for foreigners is $60. Expensive! For me, good accommodation is important. A night or so at a cheap campsite can be romantic, but high-end accommodation is much more convenient for a frequent traveler like me.

Amboseli is a basin with no obstacle from one end of the horizon to the other. Sun rise and sun set offer breath-taking views. However, I wasn’t able to capture the scene this time. Desertification is underway in Amboseli. Global warming is the biggest reason, but the surge in the number of elephants and dirt caused by tourist cars causing death of nearby trees are other interesting rumored reasons.

This group consists of about 40 elephants. Sometimes, the herd gets as large as 100 elephants. From time to time, the elephants will come across cars driving by. As the leader of the group, the big female elephant makes sure that the surrounding is safe until every member of the herd crosses the road. Elephants are quite similar to humans in many ways. I am saddened at the sight of elephant sculls lying around due to death caused by drought.

The permanent snow reveals itself. It is unfortunate that much of the snow has melted, but the mountain is nevertheless beautiful. This picture was taken at Mode S, which automatically selected Landscape Mode. I really like the wide-angle zoom lens.

This picture was taken at A Mode. I’m not quite sure where the focus was. The automatic landscape mode in S Mode seems to do a better job. The mountain is hidden behind the clouds. At a better condition, this scene surely would have captivated the hearts of many photographers.

Daniel Kulinski is one of the first Samsung imagelogers. It has been almost one year since Daniel has raised his passion for photography through the relationship with Samsung. When Samsung first met Daniel, he even hadn’t a camera for himself. He had been used to take shots with a camera of his brother, Samsung Pro815. But how his pictures were impressive, Samsung didn’t hesitate to offer him a camera, Samsung WB1000, only for himself. Since the day, Daniel has always surprised us with his shape talent and artistic feeling. And he has been provided a Samsung NX10 afterwards. Today, he has started to shot with a Samsung EX1.

Daniel is a father, husband, and, what we can obviously say today, an excellent photographer. Whoever facing his pictures appreciates hidden charms of the ordinary life. These are tenacious gratitudes for the life and, at the same time, simple contemplations in the life. Daniel shows them us in a clear way. He has a kind of humor that makes people fall in love with his pictures. He is effectively a rough gemstone that has been found by chance and carved by itself. We are really enjoying his works, seeing how he progresses with courage. Bravo, Daniel !

We interviewed him with a couple of interesting questions. Here are the answers from Daniel.

Q. Please freely introduce yourself.

A. My name is Daniel, I’m not the youngest – I’m 33 years. I live in Warsaw, Poland. Professionally, I work for the Polish Post in the IT section, Network and Application Monitoring. This means we are spying the Internet – So I’m a bad guy. My family is wife Agatha, daughter Natasha, and a dog – Courtney, English bulldog. Who knows, maybe soon you will see one more person. And my hobby is, at present, the photography. Due to my work and child, my beloved sport has to wait me for now. In fact, I am addicted of BJJ, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. For the moment, my stomach is growing instead of my muscles.

Q. We are seeing on your every single post your lovely daughter “Natasha”, can you tell us more about her?

A. Natasha is 5 months now. She is very lively child. She is now shouting at the parents, annoyed if something she wants isn’t gotten, learns to sit down. Crawling is already learned. And she likes carrot and pumpkin soup.

Q. In your opinion, what kind of profession does Natasha will go for? We saw her playing with the NX10, wouldn’t you mind if Natasha’s going to be a photographer?

A. Currently hard to say what will she do in the future. (I hope that she will be famous soon because she promised me a Mercedes!) Actually she takes my camera, loves playing on the TV with a remote control. She loves to sing in the middle of night, shout to strangers on the street, and then she is just happy a lot.

Q. We know you love to take shots of Natasha, are there any other interesting subjects you like to capture when you photography?

A. I love “macro” and “close up” photography. Unfortunately, I lack macro lens. Of course, I have an old camera, Samsung Pro815, which has a super macro function, but since I have NX10, it is hard for me to use the old equipments. I would love taking macro shots with NX10 even if it needs some other combinations and additional lens. But no problem, because I have a special technique to make a macro lens from a normal lens. I like also “abstract” images of ordinary objects.

Q. You seem like be a real big fan of Samsung‘s digital cameras. Could you talk about what amazing experiences you have gotten with your Samsung cameras?

A. Actually came out, so I’m a fan of Samsung. Why? In fact, this was by a conscious choice. I had wanted to buy a DSLR camera. As all we know, the body is not expensive, but the largest costs come from their lenses. I came to the conclusion that I need a big camera with a big zoom and DSLR-like features. And the choice had fallen on the Samsung Pro815 which so far works flawlessly. WB1000, compared to the Pro815 is a milestone. Of course, it is hard to directly compare these two cameras. However, I see a huge progress that has made Samsung. When I got WB1000, I was a little disappointed all a few minutes :) but when I go out I bring it with me. Actually, my wife took it and that’s the end of the camera because she did not give it back to me. Then, NX10 and EX1 are already very advanced, which should satisfy most people not just amateurs. In my opinion, if anyone knows how to take pictures will also realize the potential of the NX10 and EX1. If Samsung makes some other fast lens and a little more correct firmware, NX10 will mark a really big career in the domain of photography.

Q. You shoot really gorgeous pictures in the street. We imagine you going out everywhere with your best friend, Samsung NX10. What does the NX10 mean for you?

A. That’s right. The camera is always in my backpack ““ now, I have two cameras and three lenses :) NX10 has a brilliant mobility. It is Compact, light, and fast. With the 30mm is absolutely sensational. If there were more lens like 30mm – dream !

I have a lot of favorite pictures, but this is one of the last.

Q. What is your next plan as a father and as an amateur photographer?

A. As a father and husband, I have to support my family, so this is my biggest plan. As an amateur photographer, I want to improve skills and gain new experiences. I would gladly go to some advanced courses, but it unfortunately is costly affair. So I’m looking for competitions and will try to take part of them. But competitions are not easy. I also have dreams… The biggest one is to live in Portugal over the ocean. I want to travel, too. My familly loves to discover interesting places. Since long ago we has wanted to see the Far East countries such as: Korea, Thailand, China, and others. Dreams come true sometimes, so maybe one day…

Q. Please give a message to all blog visitors.

A. Taking pictures is difficult but possible. You just need to know basis and later do, do and do it. Posting pictures on sites are good for this purpose. Do not be afraid of criticism, in this way you will know what is right and wrong. A negative opinion may not discourage you, just the opposite has to motivate you. I always wanted to get the opportunity to thank all who read “my posts” in Samsung Imaging Blog. And special thanks to Samsung and the relative persons.

Samburu is a dry region all year round. It did rain quite a bit when I was there, but wasn’t enough to quench the dryness.

In Samburu, there is a spring called ‘Buffalo Springs’ that never runs dry. The water is very clean that you can directly drink off it. It also serves as an important source of water for the wild life.

The water from the spring flows to form a small river. The water here is also crystal clear and transparent. Although in the midst of the desert, the water is freezing cold.

The travel agency is finally here to pick us up. At first glance, it looks like an ordinary van that you often see on the road, but the ceiling is wide open, providing a better view of the animals. From time to time, the van breaks down and stops on the middle of the road.

This is Mount Kenya, located on the southern hemisphere, covered with snow all year round. Its highest peak is 5,199 meters. It is one of the highest mountains in Africa and the highest volcanic mountain. Professional ice wall climbing skills are required to climb the mountain.

Semi-desert with scorching heat and permanent snow located not too distant from each other – the uniqueness of Kenya is more than enough to attract the footsteps of many tourists from around the world.

For the night, I rented a tent that costs a little over $600. Those visiting here for the first time, the sound of hyena and lions crying are sure to steal their good night’s sleep. The tent is equipped with a classy shower room, bathroom and desk.

Now- driving time! Thomson’s Gazelle and zebras pass right by. A few animals that fell behind their herd. Deeply wounded male are left to die as they are no longer capable of hunting. However, female can mate with a new male to build a new family and herd.

Male lion, not bothered an inch by the sight of tourists lying idly on the grass as if the bushes were its home. In fact, male lions spend of their time sleeping. Thus, sleeping lions is a familiar sight.

This is Sand River where the wildebeest will cross. It’s full of water now, but the water diminishes in July and August and reveals the bottom of the river made of sand - thus the name “Sand River”.

Mara River finds itself on the upper region of the Sand River. This is where the famous crossing of the wildebeest takes place. The river is fraught with alligators and hippos.

The hippos living in the Mara River are especially charming. Mostly nocturnal, they stay in the water during the day time to control their temperature and come out at night to much on grass. Spotting hippos biting wildebeest to death, people tend to think that hippos eat wildebeest, but this is not true. Hippos cannot digest carnivores of that size. It’s simply that they bite them to death because they are angry for having their territory invaded.

This region experienced countless battles in the past. This is where Europeans arrived on ships for colonial rule, and thus where slave trade took place. In fact, the coastal areas of Kenya centering on Mombasa continues to house many Germans and Italians and many locations also follow their name. Busy with tourists all year-round, make sure to book for hotels well in advance if you plan to stop by.

With hot temperature, this area is surrounded by coconut trees. You can sometimes hear a “thump”. According to the hotel manager, the coconuts are picked before they fall, but people are sometimes hit.

I only spent four days here, but most come for about 15 days. Here, your day will typically consist of lying below a tree shade and just relaxing.

The black outlines you see far away are beach boys who do everything from selling souvenirs to providing tourist information and give information on marine sports at good price. Be careful though, you can often fall victim of rip-off.

Flood tide and ebb tide take place twice a day. Morning with ebb tide is the most spectacular.

Fairish moisture evaporating from my breath is evenly dotted in the mood. Two sides of path are alikely stucked on steps I set to. Solicitously, humidity makes collapse the lastest viscosity of soil, inspires him with another sense of life. Leaned back in the clouds that have lost their regular shapes since last summer, I suddenly felt so young taking to heart all those timeless sensations arousing stale reflexes: love, ignorance, sympathetic feeling, protective instinct and a sense of shame. Oh, do the roads continue beyond the town up into the hills ?

This time the research was on what kind of efforts the Swiss make to be environment-friendly. Going around here and there people were seen in small cars in order to help protect the environment. All the parking systems are charged, and outside visitors must have a card to park. It seems that there are various inconveniences, but at least because of these reasons people use the public transportation more and enables the environment to stay green. Thinking that a little inconvenience makes a better world, from now on I shall try to make myself tolerate at least some discomfort.

Also, on the roads in Swiss, there are electronic railways called “˜traps’. Since the traps and roads are connected with each other, it does look a bit complicated but it lets the people use the public transportation more effectively. The only thing is that because of the traps, it seems to be difficult to make a U-turn. However, the people there seemed not to complain and go around the long way and made U-turns. Nobody rushed nor got angry. It was nice to see people quite relaxed.

The other thing that was impressive was the cable cars. Looking at the beautiful scenery of Switzerland, I could have stayed on the cable forever. It was a time to experience the effort of the Swiss enjoying, loving and protecting the lovely nature at the salubrious Switzerland.

Old leaves are falling down even in springtime. Shadows and remains are lingered in the field where our memories used to push up on the wall of sorrows to get out. Endlessly, little wild birds run away dividing original boundaries of space, to find another excitation that last winter let behind. At the moment of loneliness, vulnerable sensations finally belong to god’s one, to something definitive, but yet useless”¦ While this naturally means a kind of thoughtlessness, I may belong to the volition of my youthfulness.

But tight tides, disabled disappearing or irreparable ignorance stay continuous. The time and its indifference bring out the ultimate promise in a life. Frustrations become less important than depressions. What I’ve searched on the road is finally understood by a low whisper from the sky. And then only a few words of consolation has been hold. Feels of lack, the slight sign of melancholia tells no more. Thus, I walk on the wall of these shiny days, like a falling bird in the early spring.

NX10 won an award at “˜Lodz Foto Fair‘. This time, it happened in Poland!

Samsung NX10 has received the medal of PFV Fair for the best product presented during fairs. Interchangeable lens camera NX10 was the only camera to have won the best product while none of the other DSLR cameras nor hybrid cameras have won.

Plus, WB1000(TL320) also won the golden FOTON awarded by Åšwiatobrazu.pl readers for the best digital compactamera.

“˜Lodz Foto Fair‘ is the biggest foto branch annual event in Poland, and was held March 25th to 27th this year. Now in its 13th year, it was the second time Samsung was present at the event.

At the event, there were 14,500 visitors who are interested in photographic equipment, and 160 exhibitors from Poland and foreign countries.

A total of 33 journalists (press, radio, tv) invited presonally to Samsung booth, 212 journalists in general present on the fair. During the fairs Samsung displayed its portfolio of new digital cameras and camcorders. All the main DSC/DVC clients invited and present (Fotojoker, Euro, Partner, Havo, Neonet, Terg, MIX, Action, Media Expert).

A lot of media such as main newspapers and portals covered the story about Lodz Foto Fair. Wirtualna Polska, one of the biggest portal sites in Poland, reported the story focusing on winning of NX10 and WB1000(TL320).
