Samsung NX10 Finally Unveiled!

nx10-lens1After teasing the Samsung NX10 in 2009, we can finally announce the launch of the Samsung NX10. The NX10, which is the first one of the NX series, is an interchangeable-lens model that combines utmost image quality and rich natural colors with easy portability.

With a super large image 14.6 Megapixel, an APS-C CMOS sensor, three exchangeable lenses and a fast, yet precise AF function the Samsung NX10 allows you to capture fleeting moments instantly.
Furthermore, the NX10 allows to either use a top-notch 3.0’ AMOLED screen or a, proximity sensor equipped, eye-level electronic viewfinder.

The size of the lenses will be, as follows:

- 18mm-55mm optically stabilized lens (included in the NX10’s kit lens)
- 50mm-200mm stabilized lens
- 30mm prime lens

A reason for the compact size is based on the fact that the NX10, unlike native DSLR cameras, comes without a mirror box or pentaprism. However, in order to guarantee highest image quality and standards even after switching lenses, we’ve implanted a new technology called “Samsung Supersonic Dust Remover”.
Additionally, the Samsung NX10 supports HD movies in 720p resolution and H.264 advanced video compression. With the APS-C sized super large CMOS sensor, this allows the user to target objects to stand out of the picture.

The representative of Samsung Digital Imaging Co., Ltd. said that the digital imaging market is becoming more of a “customer-oriented” market, which requires the exact match of needs of customers and digital imaging fans. Further stating, that the Samsung NX10 is only the beginning.

If you would like to test or view the new Samsung NX10 first-hand, this year’s CES 2010 in Las Vegas, NV will be your chance.

We thank you for your interest in our products!

Thank you,

  9. I have been so excited about this Fourth coming camera for a long time now, especially since it offers a body with a short distance from flange to image plane. This will surly bring about third party adapters for using old Manual focus 35mm film lenses on this body. Much the same way that the m4/3 standard of cameras did. I held of on ever buying those types of camera because the sensor was much smaller than an APS-C, and i did not want to loose that much more image field. The only thing i was disappointed in was the fact that you did not offer in body image stabilization requiring me to get the more Expensive lenses if i want that. Also the EVF could have been much larger, closer to the size of pro cameras. I found that info at http://www.dpreview.com/previews/SamsungNX10/page2.asp
The review is excellent, i love the fact that it has HD video recording capability and it has the sensor size i want with a nice high megapixel count. I just hope the price its offered at is competitive with other cameras of its class, as i am a photography student. At the university i go to we are required to use film cameras for the first 2 years of our program and can switch to digital or scan in the junior and senior years. I am one of the many that have a film SLR system with Many lenses that has no matching Digital body to be used on, except for the smaller sensor m4/4 and now this larger sensor APS-c body now. My professors are interested in seeing this if i end up buying it. I am leaning towards this camera or the GF-1. Depending on the price.
I hope that soon you have Someplace in New York city where we can try this camera. Maybe you can have something at the ICP school in New york to show it of. I am interested in finding out how is manual focusing it, how easy it would be with that size EVF, and At what the MSRP for this camera would be.

  10. Hi. Danny M.

Thank you for interesting in NX10.
NX10 will be showing at CES 2010, and price is undecided yet.
We expect it sales open in February in Korea, and in March in the US.
but there would be little bit differences depending on the condition of stores.
We will keep updating the news about CES 2010 and NX10 until then, so pay attention to our blog uploading please.
We’d like to help for your great choice.

    Thank you.

  11. So is there a no lens setting to be able to take pictures with the camera if a lens without electrical connections is attached?

  12. i see the lenses that you list for this camera but not the Max apertures for them.

  13. Thats the way to go : Bigge sensors in smaller bodies.
    People love portability.
Without the viewfinder the camera would look much more like the EP1 or GF1 which would have been a good thing.
I am really excited about this camera
