New animations for your ST550(TL225)/ST500(TL220)’s Children mode
We, at SamsungImaging.net, are happy to present you the first wave of additional “Children Mode”-animations for your Samsung ST550(TL225), ST500(TL220).
The ST550(TL225), ST500(TL220) are the world’s first, next-generation, cameras to feature an additional LCD panel in the front, alongside the obligatory main LCD in the back.
This unique, yet very powerful new technology, provides users with a whole new digital experience such as:
1 Taking self-pictures easier than ever.
2 Self-timer function, to know exactly when the shot is going to be taken.
and 3 “Children mode”-animations to gain the attention of your children’s, while taking pictures.
And for the latter one, we’ve prepared 20 additional animations, which is now available for download.
In order to see the animations, just move your cursor above the images. And if you want to download them, simply click on the images!

Can TL220 hold more than one animation or just one at a time? How can I restore the original clown animation?

Do you mind asking, but have you removed your other animations before you installed the new one’s? Since, as stated in the instruction, drag’n'dropping your animations from your PC to the camera storage should be sufficient!

Hi,
I have an issue with adding the animations into the camera. Whenever I add in the animations into the DCIM folder and try to restart it, there is no update or anything whatsoever, it just goes back to thte normal camera function. Please tell me what I’m doing wrong.

Where is this “root folder”!?!?!
Hi, Pansu.
If you want to update the animation, you should copy and paste whole files on the top folder, not DCIM – the folder that you can see also ‘Database’ and ‘DCIM’ folders.
Do copy and paste all files to the folder, and try to restart the camera again. (You don’t have to make another file. It probably looks little messy, but that is the right way to do.)
You’ll see the camera updates animation automatically when you turn it on.

I don’t know how did you download and place files into the camera, but let me start with the “root folder”.
“Root folder” means the top folder where you can see both ‘DATABASE’ and ‘DCIM’ folders. When you connect the camera with your PC, the window says ‘Open the file’ will pop up. Click that, and that is the “root folder” that you were looking for.
To update the animation, you have to download the .zip file on your computer and upzip the file on your desktop or other folder in your computer. After you have unzipped files, you have to replace those files to the “root folder” that I stated above.
Try to turn the camera on, then you’ll see the updating process.

How can I restore the original clown animation?

If you have deleted all files of the original clown animation, you should go to the nearest Samsung branch to restore it – we feel sorry for this, but we don’t have extra animation for the original clown on the website.
The best way to keep your animations that you have downloaded or you already had, make folders for each animations and take out files from folder each time that you want to use.

I haven’t had the pleasure of doing this yet, I’ve yet to buy the amazing and lovely TL220 (I love how there are two dual screens, its a touchscreen and so many features yet it pocket size) (: Great job on the Samsung. I cannot wait to have this camera.
As for the animations they are so adorable, I can hardly choose which one to load onto my camera.
:) By any chance will you be coming out with newer animations anytime soon?

I just got ST500, really like the features, dual lcd with animation too :)
So if i wanna change the original clown animation with other but still wanna keep the original files in case i wanna use clown again, then what should i do?
copy original files from the root folder of the camera? but it’s empty, root folder only has ‘Database’ and ‘DCIM’ folders.
Also in Children Mode can we change the setting of flash on/off, AF, ISO, etc, or is it limited only to menu provided?

First of all, you cannot backup the pierrot animation that you originally had.
However, we added the original pierrot animaiton in this post so please feel free to download and install it just like what you’ve done with other animations.

I am very confused. I have tried MULTIPLE times and the new animation will not download on to my TL220. But the worst part is that all of my animations on my camera have been deleted… the smiley face for smile detection, the countdown for the self timer, the child mode animations, and all of the other animations. I do not know what to do and this upsets me greatly because I just got this camera and now half of the features are not working like they should.

We feel sorry about the fact that you are having troubles with TL220.
First of all, if you can tell us how did you download the new animation, it would be more helpful for me.
Since we do not know how you did with downloading the animation, we cannot give you accurate answer.
For smile detection, there is originally no smiley face for the smile detection.
To see the countdown for self-timer, you have to turn on the front display first before you take self-timer photo.
Please check whether you turned the front screen on or off before you take self-timer photo.
And just in case, you can have only one children mode animation in your camera. Everytime when you download new animation, the old animation is deleted automatically.
If all suggestions that we gave you above do not work, go to the setting mode and try reset the camera.

Another question: how can we use digital zoom?, there’s suppose to be additional digital zoom when we reach maximum optical zoom..
I know it can’t to change the animation by myself on ST550 currently , but is it possible to consider this feature by lots of ST550 customers ? It is not difficult to implement , if Samsung can do release how to make the format which is recognized by ST550 . Thanks , it’s very appreciate your prompt reply.

The only animation that I see loading on this page is the clown. All other images do not load. I tried in several different browsers. Not sure whats going on.
