Near the Eiffel Tower in Paris are many parks that command a good view of buildings. There are also many paths and benches where people can take a rest. The sight of families sitting on the bench talking with each other, people jogging with their pets, and couples walking joyfully and fully enjoying the nature left me smiling. The peaceful scene also left me happy. The cool breeze from the trees and the laughter – it is as if I can still hear them vividly.

I pass Paris and arrive at Lyon, where I find a park called “Golden Park”. At a vast grass plot, quite a lot of people were enjoying sun tan. In Korea, not many people spend hours in the park, whereas in France, people appeared to be quite comfortable with spending time and resting there. They seemed to be very happy chatting and spending time at the park with friends and families.

Just as there were many parks, there were also many camp grounds. Families escaping from the hustle and bustle of city life having a great time fully enwrapped in nature seemed very happy. High-end hotels and famous restaurants don’t necessarily make for a good trip. I think it is a good trip if you are able to laugh with your family over some bread and wine under a cool shade of a tree. It would be fantastic if we can see more of such camp grounds in Korea that encourages such pleasant trips. But it is still only a dream for us so used to the city life.
